Annual Campmates Holiday

Last week myself & Charlie went on our annual Campmates holiday in the New Forest.

Campmates specialise in Camping Holidays for Single Parent Families, so everyone on the campsite is a single parent and in the same boat.

We always go for the pre pitched option which makes it far easier than having to pitch your own. Included in the price is the tent – pre pitched. Camp beds, table, chairs, gas stove, kettle, cooking utensils, plates, cutlery and washing up bowl. (I’m sure I may have missed something!) All you have to take is yourself, bedding, clothing, food and some spending money. I would advise not to pack to much food to start as there is a short distance away a small Tesco, Sainsbury’s and two Co-Op’s. About 10 minutes away you also have a large Tesco and Morrison’s. Also, you will find locally a few takeaway restaurants.

On the campsite, they offer in the mornings tea / coffee / hot chocolate and breakfast rolls and once a week they also do a pizza night where they freshly make pizza’s to order and cook them in their on site wood fired pizza oven. So you will not go hungry at all.

Throughout your stay staff are on hand to help and depending on the weather, will try to organise a few on site activities to include a bingo and quiz nigh and silent disco. They will take you to a local stream in the forest one day for a picnic and you may even get the chance to seem some New Forest Ponies.

If you look below the photo’s, I have linked a few local places you may want to visit when on the campsite. (I will add more to the list as I think of them)
