So last week I (mummy) asked Charlie what he wanted to do on Saturday and he decided he wanted to give Go Ape, Chessington a go.
So, I booked the TreeTop Adventure course which is suitable for children to do, we turned up and the staff were really great. I explained that Charlie was a bit nervous as he wasn’t great with heights, but he really wanted to do it. They were, kind and funny, making Charlie laugh the whole time they were helping him with his harness (and me) and really went through the safety briefing in a child friendly way
Once we got going, Charlie went in front of me and he did get a bit scared half way round, but I kept encouraging him and he did it! His fave bit was going down the zip wire at the end. We get an hour to do the course as many times as we wanted, so Charlie did the zip wire bit a few times, then did the course again on his own, he’s now asking when we can go back
I would highly recommend the Chessington course
As I said, Charlie was a little nervous, but he did it and I’m so proud that he did do it and conquered his fear of heights, here he is with his trophy I promised him if he did do it and his certificate
Whilst we were there, we obviously made use of our Merlin Annual Passes and went into Chessington where we managed to do the Vampire Ride, Tiny Truckers, Tiger Rock, Sea Storm, Zufari (for the first time & loved it) and lastly, Tomb Blaster – twice, the ride attendant let us stay on as it was the end of the day and no one was queuing up!
